Chronic Fatigue

Until recently, many medical doctors were disputing
the existence of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It is recognized by the Disease Control(CDC) as "a debilitating and complex disorder characterized by profound fatigue that is not improved by bed rest and that may be worsened by physical or mental activity. Symptoms affect several body systems and may include weakness, muscle pain, impaired memory and/or mental concentration, and insomnia, which can result in reduced participation in daily activities."
An unhealthy immune system plays a key role in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Chronic fatigue or CFS is a newly defined syndrome that describes various combinations of symptoms some of which include fatigue, sore throat, low-grade fever, swelling of the lymph nodes, headache, joint and muscle pain, intestinal upset, depression and the inability to concentrate.
In the past, chronic fatigue syndrome has been called a variety of names including chronic mononucleosis, Epstein-Barr virus syndrome, yuppie flu, viral fatigue syndrome, chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction syndrome also known as CFIDS. This complex and debilitating condition requires careful analysis and diagnosis and it is best to consult a healthcare practioner who is experienced in treating patients with this disorder.
